Our Ethos<\/h3>\nChildren deserve to be in a beautiful environment filled with awe and wonder, they deserve the space and time to explore their thoughts fully and to be surrounded by highly trained and caring educators who join in the learning with them. We believe every child is unique, their individuality should be nurtured, cherished and encouraged to blossom.\nAt our nursey we strongly believe in nurturing children’s self-esteem and self-confidence allowing them to feel safe, secure and ready to engage, explore and learn. As co-regulators we aim to guide children to develop emotional literacy and resilience and to develop critical creative thinking skills, enabling and empowering children to create solutions to problems they face.\nWe respect and trust the child to lead us through their learning journey, empowering children and providing them with responsibilities to their peers and their community. Our purpose is to empower the children to be intrinsically motived to learn.\n\n\t\tOur Approach\n\t<\/h3>\n\t
Little Squirrels Play Forest takes inspiration from initiatives such as Forest Schools and the Curiosity Approach whereby children are given freedom and independence, where the child leads their learning journey and evolves and adapts as a result. Our nursery draws influence from several different approaches and learning theorists such as Frobel, Waldolf, Steiner and Montessori. We strongly value play as the highest form of learning and we encourage children to take risks and challenge themselves. We are avid believers in children learning by experience, we aim to create an enabling, stimulating and loving environment where learning is based on where the child’s imagination takes us.<\/p>\n
We work with the child in the moment as co-learners and co-regulators on a journey of discovery. As skilled educators we facilitate learning in everyday moments knowing when it’s appropriate to step in to enhance learning and when to take a step back. Time spent with the children is treated with the utmost importance, building relationships, developing mutual respect and understanding is key.<\/p>\n
We believe our ethos and approach is key to our success. The way we work treating each child’s learning journey as unique ensures children feel safe and secure allowing them to make good progress in their learning. Families feel welcomed and supported within the setting which allows us to work in collaboration putting the child’s needs at the centre.<\/p>\n\t\t\n\t\t
